Solutions for the challenges of the sector

The GrindTec 2016 will be presenting a considerable amount of novel technical and technological highlights from the sector of grinding and tool-grinding technology. The main factor is that the trade fair also promotes all the details, which usually get lost at the big all-round trade fairs for manufacturing technology. And this is exactly what  attracts the visitors to the GrindTec. Exhibitors will be presenting new grinding machines, KSS filter plants and clamping technology, and we can also look forward to seeing interesting new developments in the field of software. With user software the focus is more and more on user-friendliness. Even with such complex 5-axle CNC grinding machines as tool-grinding machines the programming is carried out through intuitive entries. Furthermore simulation technology is also becoming more and more important.

New: Theme park grinding technology 4.0

The theme park grinding technology 4.0 will have its première at the GrindTec 2016. In the equally new exhibition Hall 4 this special show will focus on the topic of digitalisation in grinding technology together with leading companies such as KUKA Roboter, Kellenberger, GDX and Wolf IT. They will be presenting the possibilities and advantages of digitalisation for logistics, and the prevention of multiple entry of data when programming or using grinding technology machines and systems. Parallel to the event, which is organised by the publishers  Konradin-Verlag Robert Kohlhammer, specialised lectures will be presented.

Competition “Tool-grinder of the year 2016”

Together with the Vollmer Werken Maschinenfabrik GmbH and the FDPW-Academy the trade magazine “fertigung” is looking for the “Tool-grinder of the year 2016”. They are looking for technical competence, very good manual skills and an eye for economic feasibility. The candidates have already passed the first, theoretical part of the competition. The five best will present themselves at the finale on 17th March at the GrindTec, in order to find the winner in an exciting competition. They have to programme and machine a difficult part on a Vollmer grinding machine.

Parallel to this competition, experts will be introducing the job profile of the tool grinding mechanic together with career opportunities, training and further education, and also the future prospects of this high-tech skilled trade.

Competence centre grinding technology: State of the art research and development

Long since the field of research and teaching has discovered the high-tech world of modern grinding and tool-grinding technology. Many research institutions and teaching and further education colleges will be represented at the GrindTec 2016. Together with the trade press and the GrindTec Forum they form the competence centre grinding technology. In this framework the network represents the state of the art from research and development – the ideal complement to the comprehensive range of exhibits of the GrindTec exhibitors.
